Grayscale Revamps Leadership Team, Names Barry Silbert as Board Chairman
Following its confidential IPO filing last month, Grayscale Investments has reshuffled its leadership structure—bringing back founder Barry Silbert as board chairman and appointing four new senior executives to key positions within the company.
The latest hires include:
- Diana Zhang as Chief Operating Officer
- Ramona Boston as Chief Marketing Officer
- Andrea Williams as Chief Communications Officer
- Maxwell Rosenthal as Chief Human Resources Officer
All four will report directly to CEO Peter Mintzberg and arrive with deep experience from some of the most prominent names in traditional finance, including Bridgewater Associates, Apollo Global Management, Goldman Sachs, and Citadel.
Zhang most recently held the COO role at BlockTower Capital and previously worked as deputy to Bridgewater’s co-CEO. Boston, meanwhile, was responsible for client marketing at Apollo, and Williams helped build out communications strategies at Oaktree before leading media relations at Goldman Sachs. Rosenthal formerly headed the global credit HR team at Citadel.
In a significant leadership shift, Silbert returns to the helm as board chairman, replacing Mark Shifke, who will stay on as a board member. The board now includes five members, and the company confirmed it is actively exploring the addition of independent directors.
The leadership shake-up comes at a time when Grayscale is accelerating its efforts to position itself as a dominant player in the institutional crypto investment space—potentially signaling stronger strategic alignment ahead of its public debut.
