SBF Sam Bankman-Fried

Sam Bankman-Fried’s story is being adapted for the big screen, despite his looming 25-year prison sentence.

Apple Studios and A24 are co-producing a film based on Michael Lewis’ Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon, released in October 2023, coinciding with Bankman-Fried’s criminal trial.

The book has faced criticism for downplaying the financial damage to millions of investors, focusing instead on SBF’s philosophy of effective altruism and its possible influence on his actions.

Lena Dunham is set to write the film’s script, with the project already in early stages. Following FTX’s 2022 bankruptcy and the ongoing legal cases against its executives, the crypto exchange’s collapse remains a hot topic.

Other productions, such as Fortune and Unrealistic Ideas, are also exploring the FTX saga, including SBF’s relationship with former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. Despite their legal troubles, Zhao was released from custody.

As the courtroom drama continues, the story of FTX’s rise and fall keeps attracting attention from both filmmakers and the public.
