Ethereum Faces Pivotal Weeks Ahead as Analyst Flags Volatility Risks

Cryptocurrency analyst Joao Wedson has issued a cautionary outlook for Ethereum (ETH), warning that the coming weeks may prove decisive for the second-largest cryptocurrency.

Wedson suggested that Ethereum is likely entering a reaccumulation phase, with algorithmic trading expected to cluster around the $7,000–$7,500 range. He pointed to Bitcoin’s cyclical patterns, noting that ETH often attracts capital flows roughly 28 days after Bitcoin sets new record highs.

Current data, he argued, suggests that this historical rhythm could repeat, bringing renewed liquidity into Ethereum.
A key signal backing this view is Ethereum’s open interest, which has surged to levels comparable with Bitcoin.

For Wedson, this underscores the potential for significant volatility. “The good news is that high volatility creates numerous opportunities,” he explained. “The bad news is that such moments of euphoria usually don’t last long.”

Wedson emphasized that Ethereum currently exhibits a more resilient structure than Bitcoin, but he tempered optimism with caution. He warned that the derivatives market may face sudden, rug-pull-style price swings over the next two months, urging traders to brace for abrupt reversals.

Looking further ahead, the analyst predicted that the next bear market could begin by late 2025, likely between November and December. Until then, Ethereum’s path may be defined by both strong upward moves and sharp corrective phases, as the asset navigates this transitional stage of the cycle.
