The cryptocurrency market is on the cusp of a new bull run, with Ethereum leading the charge. 

Prominent analyst Matthew Hyland highlights that the ETHBTC trading pair has broken out in the weekly timeframe, while also creating a hidden bullish divergence. 

He further claims that the Bitcoin Dominance (BTC.D) is on the cusp of a steep correction, while the altcoin dominance is starting a multi-year bull run against BTC.D. 

Altcoin dominance versus Bitcoin dominance has shown a decade-long correlation with the Federal Reserve’s quantitative tightening cycle. Historically, periods when QT is inactive have strongly favoured sustained altcoin outperformance relative to Bitcoin.

With the Fed having ended its balance sheet contraction on December 1st, altcoins are the best crypto to buy now, with ETH already breaking out on Tuesday. 

Wednesday’s FOMC meeting could provide an additional boost to crypto prices, especially if Fed Chair Jerome Powell adopts a dovish stance. There are also rumours that he could announce a monthly $45 billion debt buyback program, which would pave the way for an explosive bull run.

Ethereum (ETH): How High Can It Go In 2026?

The Ethereum price broke out on Tuesday, trading as high as $3,400 before a marginal pullback. 

Crucially, ETH’s rally isn’t just a ripple effect from BTC’s bull strength. With ETHBTC breaking out of a multi-week range, Ethereum is now leading the broader market rally. 

Prominent analyst Income Sharks has now opened a long position in ETH, highlighting that its on-balance volume (OBV) has broken out from a downtrend as well. 

There is a strong institutional and whale demand for Ethereum. Treasury firms like BitMine and Sharplink Gaming continue to accumulate, while whales have scooped up over 934,340 ETH over the past month, data from market intelligence platform Santiment reveals. 

Owing to the strong buying pressure, ETH’s supply on centralized exchanges has fallen to a decade low. The setup is ready for another push towards new highs, with a growing expectation that the second-largest crypto could hit $20,000 by 2026. 

XRP (XRP): New Prediction Signals $15 By 2026 

XRP is another top digital asset in high institutional demand. In recent Ripple news, $1.7 trillion asset management firm Franklin Templeton claims that the asset will play a foundational role in global settlement infrastructure. 

The spot XRP ETF continues to record strong inflows, despite the broader market bearishness. It has now recorded over $945 million in inflows since its debut on 14th November. 

The XRP price continues to hold above the $2 support level, which is an excellent entry point for sidelined investors. 

Prominent analyst Chart Nerd highlights that the XRP price chart has formed a staircase pattern; several months of range-bound price action, followed by an explosive upside move. He claims that Wave 5 of the pattern is next, which could take the token price to $15 next year. 

Other top crypto traders remain highly bullish on XRP, with Charting Guy predicting a rally to $8 by 2026 and Ali Martinez projecting $7 in the long term. 

Solana (SOL): New All-Time High In January?

While Ethereum is taking the centre stage, Solana isn’t far behind. 

The SOL price is currently trading at $137, with a market capitalization of $77 billion. A rally to $150 is now all but certain, and a subsequent breakout would pave the way for $180, providing an excellent setup for leverage traders. 

However, Solana is also one of the top cryptocurrencies to buy now for the long term. It has successfully defended its macro ascending support trendline, as well as the $124 monthly support. A new all-time high is now on the cards.

The SUI network has already seen its total value locked rebound above the $1 billion mark, signalling renewed momentum and growing on-chain demand.
