ETH SOL best altcoins to buy

Investor confidence is rebuilding in the crypto market. Bitcoin is holding strong around $93,000, while Ethereum and Solana have each posted double-digit gains from their lows just two days ago.

Ethereum is trading at roughly $3,200 on Thursday, leading the top 10 cryptos by market cap after its Fusaka upgrade launched smoothly – signalling a new era of improved supply and demand dynamics, as well as a better user experience.

Solana now trades around $143, up over 15% from its Tuesday lows. ETF narratives fueled the move, with new launches and strong inflows reflecting a clear institutional appetite at a time when Wall Street is growing increasingly aligned with crypto.

But are Ethereum and Solana the best altcoins to buy? Market data shows that, while they’ve rallied, some smaller altcoins have outperformed – underscoring that more nimble alternatives can deliver stronger returns. Let’s look at what’s happening with ETH and SOL, then explore four top crypto projects that could be better investment opportunities.

Ethereum, Solana Surge as Bitcoin Reclaims $93K

Bitcoin is setting the tone for the broader market right now. It tanked to $85,500 on Tuesday, but then experienced a sharp upward reversal – rallying to $93,600 on Wednesday. It has since continued to hover around this level.

Market sentiment is rising, with CoinMarketCap’s Fear and Greed Index reading 27, its highest level in over three weeks. This improved mood is enabling positive catalysts to have a bigger impact, such as Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade.

Ethereum plunged to $2,700 on Monday but has since rallied to $3,200, marking an 18% increase in three days. Fusaka “fixes Ethereum’s biggest problem,” according to a post by the research firm Bull Theory on X on Wednesday – the same day that Fusaka officially launched.

Bull Theory ‘s analysts explained that Ethereum Layer 2s used to absorb most of the ecosystem fees without “paying anything back” to the L1, but Fusaka reverses this, adding, “Every L2 transaction now automatically contributes to ETH burns. Before, this wasn’t the case.“

This could massively bolster Ethereum’s supply and demand dynamics. And when paired with the improved UX benefits expected from Fusaka, it’s clear why traders are excited.

Solana has shown strength for a different reason, with ETF tailwinds fueling its momentum. The $1.5 trillion asset manager Franklin Templeton launched a Solana ETF on Wednesday, and it has a memetic flavor.

The firm chose the ticker “SOEZ,” which reads as “so easy.” It’s a nod to Solana’s history of meme culture, and clearly shows that institutional players share appreciation for the occasional crypto gag.

Solana ETFs have now clocked $618 million in net inflows since they began in October, with the biggest day of inflows this week coming on Tuesday, totalling $45.7 million, per Farside Investors data.

By surpassing $140, Solana has reclaimed a key level that could serve as a launchpad for further growth if it holds. But as Solana and Ethereum rally, several breakout projects have outperformed. Let’s look at four top altcoins to buy, considering projects that are pumping right now and ones that could begin to surge in the weeks ahead.

Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER)

Bitcoin Hyper is a Bitcoin Layer 2 blockchain that runs on the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM). Using the SVM delivers Solana-grade speed and programmability, two things Bitcoin could massively benefit from. It will periodically report its state back to the Bitcoin L1 using ZK-rollups, ensuring Bitcoin-level security.

The project is building a trustless, canonical bridge that allows users to transfer BTC to and from the new Layer 2. Users simply send their BTC to a designated wallet address, which is monitored by the Bitcoin Hyper relay system. The system mints an equivalent amount of wrapped BTC on the L2 anytime a wallet makes a transfer.

At its core, Bitcoin Hyper aims to address Bitcoin’s pressing speed issue, as the network can process only seven transactions per second (TPS). However, Solana’s programmability unlocks new possibilities for Bitcoin, including support for DeFi, real-world assets, payments, and meme coins.

Currently in presale, Bitcoin Hyper has raised almost $29 million to date, reflecting strong market demand. But with such a strong use case, there’s potential for much bigger gains as development advances. The HYPER token price is temporarily discounted at $0.013375, with staking options providing an APY of 40%.

Zcash (ZEC)

All eyes were on Zcash from September through mid-November as it rampaged from $40 to $732. It turned bearish afterward, plunging to $313 as of Wednesday. But after such a run, it’s unsurprising that the price cooled; early buyers wanted to take profits, and ZEC was less appealing to new buyers since they knew the music would stop sooner or later.

However, Zcash is back in the mixer today, rising 7% over 24 hours. If it can maintain this momentum and regain key support levels, we could be looking at the beginning of the next leg up.

It’s worth paying special notice to Zcash’s position as a privacy coin. The privacy narrative is becoming increasingly crucial, offering a tangible answer to the intensifying concerns about mass surveillance.

As AI advances, plans for central bank digital currencies emerge, and crypto becomes increasingly institutionalized, everyday people – and institutions alike – want sovereign financial activity that can’t be tracked by anyone who has an internet connection and an understanding of block explorers.

This is more than a short-term narrative, and it’s one that Zcash is at the center of.

Maxi Doge (MAXI)

Franklin Templeton’s meme-flavored Solana ETF shows that meme coins are heating up again, but it could be Maxi Doge that outperforms in the weeks ahead.

It’s a dog-themed meme coin primarily inspired by Dogecoin, and focused on utility and community rewards. The project’s mascot is a degen crypto bro who trades on 1000x leverage and never uses a stop loss, paying homage to the same memetic culture as Franklin Templeton, but in a more aggressive way.

On a more serious note, the team plans to add MAXI to derivatives trading platforms, and it’ll host weekly trading competitions with USDT and MAXI rewards on offer. This could stimulate ecosystem participation, while also drawing a wider audience than the usual crowd of meme coin traders.

Maxi Doge is undergoing a presale and has raised $4.27 million so far, positioning it among the top meme coin ICOs on the market. MAXI is priced at $0.0002715, with dynamic staking APYs at 73% for now. If meme coins can keep rising, this might just be the next one to explode.

World Liberty Financial (WLFI)

World Liberty Financial is a DeFi project with connections to Donald Trump. The extent to which he’s involved remains uncertain, but it’s publicly verified that he is a part of the team.

This political angle provides World Liberty Financial with a unique narrative, often enabling WLFI to show strength in hard times and react fastest to positive news. This month, for example, WLFI has gained 40%, while every altcoin inside the top ten remains in the red.

Considering this relative strength, there could be significant growth potential ahead if the broader market continues to climb from here.

World Liberty Financial offers a native stablecoin called USD1, and it’s also building its own lending and borrowing platform. It recently announced it will launch real-world asset products in January 2026, which could serve as a potential growth catalyst in the weeks leading up to the event.
