Ripple's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, recently shared his predictions about the future of cryptocurrency in the U.S. during his participation at Cantor's annual Crypto Conference.
Garlinghouse expressed strong optimism that, following a significant shift in political leadership in the U.S. announced on November 5, the country is poised to become the “crypto capital of the world.” This prediction reflects his belief that with the right regulatory framework, the U.S. could lead global crypto innovation in the near future.
In addition to discussing the future of cryptocurrency, Garlinghouse also commented on the current state of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
He speculated that SEC Chairman Gary Gensler may soon be ousted, particularly given the newly elected U.S. leadership’s promises to fire him on their first day in office.
Garlinghouse has been vocal in the past about his frustrations with Gensler’s handling of crypto regulations, and just a week ago, he tweeted his hopes that Gensler would be held accountable for what he sees as a failure to properly follow the law in the ongoing case against Ripple.
