China Financial Leasing Group, a Hong Kong-listed firm (HKEX: 2312), has unveiled plans to raise HK$86.5 million ($11.1 million) to fund the creation of a cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence (AI) investment platform.

The company detailed its strategy in a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, marking a significant expansion into the fast-growing digital asset and AI sectors.

The firm will generate the capital through a new share subscription, issuing over 69 million new shares at HK$1.25 each. Once completed, the fresh funds are expected to strengthen China Financial’s investment portfolio and diversify its operations beyond traditional financial leasing.

Focus Shifts Toward Digital Assets and AI

According to the company’s statement, roughly 94% of the raised capital will go toward acquiring equity stakes and securities across multiple industries – with a particular focus on crypto, blockchain, and artificial intelligence ventures. This allocation underlines the company’s growing confidence in the long-term potential of digital assets and emerging technologies.

The remaining portion of the proceeds will be directed toward operational and development costs tied to the new platform. China Financial Leasing emphasized that it aims to build a comprehensive digital asset investment platformthat merges AI-driven analytics with crypto market exposure, enabling more strategic and data-informed investment decisions.

The move aligns with a wider trend among Asian financial firms exploring the intersection of AI and blockchain innovation. As digital asset markets mature, companies are increasingly seeking hybrid strategies that combine machine learning tools with blockchain-based financial products.

For China Financial Leasing Group, this initiative represents a transformation from a conventional financial services provider into a participant in the digital economy’s next frontier. If successful, the platform could serve as both a crypto investment hub and a testbed for AI-enhanced trading and asset management solutions.
