Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood reaffirmed her conviction in Bitcoin during an appearance on The Master Investor podcast, calling it the dominant cryptocurrency and the most reliable monetary network.

She described Bitcoin as a “rules-based global monetary system” and emphasized that it remains the only Layer 1 blockchain never hacked.

While Wood acknowledged Ethereum’s vital role in powering DeFi, she noted that its ecosystem now faces growing competition from Layer 2 solutions, raising questions about its long-term dominance.

Despite this, she revealed she is “warming up” to Ethereum and has recently expanded her exposure by purchasing shares of BitMine, a company involved in ETH mining and infrastructure.

Industry voices quickly reacted. Tom Lee praised Wood’s foresight on Bitcoin, calling her the “GOAT of the crypto industry.” He added that as her exposure to Ethereum grows, she may become increasingly supportive of ETH alongside her longstanding Bitcoin thesis.

Wood’s comments come at a time when institutional sentiment is split: Bitcoin continues to dominate the narrative around monetary security, while Ethereum is positioned as the backbone for decentralized applications, staking, and tokenization.
