BGB Token

The crypto market has been grinding sideways for weeks now. Bitcoin can’t seem to catch a break, and most altcoins are just following along in the same sluggish pattern. Everyone’s waiting for something to happen.

Bitget Token (BGB) didn’t get the memo about staying flat. The token ripped past $5 earlier today, up more than 10% as news broke about its partnership with Morph. Turns out good news can still move price when there’s actual substance behind it.

There’s another crypto exchange token making moves during this sideways market, too. Best Wallet Token (BEST) has now raised over $15 million in its ongoing presale, and with everyone talking about wallet infrastructure these days, the timing of its upcoming launch looks perfect. Could this be the next utility token to explode like Bitget and OKB?

What’s Behind Bitget Token’s Explosive Rally Today

Bitget Token is the utility token for Bitget users, offering fee discounts of up to 30% on spot trading and 15% on futures trading, plus first dibs on launchpad deals and staking rewards. It’s an ERC-20 token that trades on other exchanges as well; you can find it on MEXC, Bitfinex, and more.

So, why is it rallying? It’s because Bitget just announced they’re handing over all 440 million BGB tokens they control to the Morph Foundation. Half of that – 220 million tokens – gets burned immediately. The other half gets locked up with a slow 2% monthly release for ecosystem development.

BGB price chart

This partnership means BGB holders now get governance rights over an entire blockchain that’s focused on payments and consumer finance. And the market likes that because suddenly BGB has gone from being just an exchange token to being the gas and governance token for a whole Layer-2 network.

Could This September Break the Crypto Market’s Historical Pattern?

Bitget Token’s rally is surprising because September is usually bearish for crypto. Bitcoin has closed red in 8 of the last 12 Septembers going back to 2013, with an average loss of around 3-4%. Ethereum does even worse, dropping about 5% on average during September.

But some years break the pattern, and this might be one of them. Analysts have noted that green Septembers often follow weak August closes, which is precisely what we saw last month. We’ve also got some big macro events coming up that could shift the risk environment.

BTC monthly returns

August’s CPI numbers are released on September 11, followed by the FOMC meeting on September 16-17. Both events could change rate cut expectations dramatically.

Meanwhile, spot ETF flows are still the wild card – Bitcoin ETFs saw mixed flows in August while Ethereum ETFs actually pulled in strong inflows. That dynamic could continue to play out through September, helping altcoins like Bitget Token maintain momentum.

Best Wallet Token Could Buck September’s Trend After Raising $15M

While BGB rallies on its Morph news, there’s another token that might also ignore September’s typical weakness. Best Wallet Token just passed the $15 million presale milestone, and the numbers are pretty impressive – nearly 60,000 participants and a fixed token price of just $0.025575.

BEST powers the Best Wallet app, a non-custodial wallet that offers a range of features – cross-chain swaps, portfolio tracking, and on-ramp purchases across 60+ chains. They’ve also got Fireblocks security backing everything up, plus seedless recovery.

The token gives you fee discounts, staking yields of 86% during the presale, and early access to new launches through their “Upcoming Tokens” portal. And to top it all off, there’s no need to complete KYC checks before using the wallet.

But what makes BEST potentially better than BGB right now? Exchange tokens depend on trading volumes and now Layer-2 adoption for BGB specifically. But wallet tokens tap into something bigger – the whole self-custody movement.

Plus, BGB just had its big moment with the token burn. BEST still has all its major catalysts ahead: presale stages, token generation event, and exchange listings. That’s why analysts like Borch Crypto are calling it the “best crypto presale” to invest in.

The early-stage setup gives BEST more room to run. Presale tokens often move on their own timeline too, not tied to whatever macro factors are dragging down the rest of the market in September. So, if the wallet sector continues to grow and the upcoming DEX launch is successful, BEST could be the better play.
