Bitcoin hits $80,000 amid massive spot ETF inflows. Total crypto market cap reaches $2.68 trillion as institutional demand for ETH, SOL, and XRP grows.

The market movement comes amid fresh inflows into U.S. spot crypto ETFs and a sharp increase in risk appetite. The total cryptocurrency market capitalization reached approximately $2.68 trillion after growing by 2.05% over the last 24 hours. At the time of writing, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $80,036, marking a 3.7% daily increase, while its weekly gains now exceed 24%.

Ethereum (ETH) is holding steady near $2,490, having appreciated by more than 30% over seven days. Solana (SOL) showed even stronger daily performance, adding 6.57% to reach approximately $100.54. XRP is hovering around $1.48, though its weekly growth has hit roughly 49%.

The rally is showing signs of broadening beyond BTC. Hyperliquid (HYPE) is up about 36% for the week, while Zcash (ZEC) stands out with a nearly 69% increase during the same period.

Institutional Flows Remain a Vital Support

Recent ETF market data from FarSide Investors provides additional context for the strong price action. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net inflow of $337.6 million on August 24.

BlackRock’s IBIT dominated once again with $208.9 million in new capital, while Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $104.6 million. Bitwise reported another $3 million, while VanEck and Morgan Stanley added $3.3 million and $1.4 million, respectively.

Crucially, these inflows follow several strong sessions. On August 20, net inflows to BTC ETFs reached $606.3 million, followed by another $307.5 million on August 21. This indicates that institutional demand is not merely a one-time reaction to the price rally.

Ethereum is also attracting capital. Spot ETH ETFs recorded $115.6 million in net inflows on August 24, with BlackRock’s ETHA accounting for $90.9 million. Fidelity attracted $6.8 million, while VanEck and Bitwise reported $4.5 million and $0.9 million, respectively.

This trend is also developing over several consecutive sessions. Ethereum funds attracted $186.8 million on August 19, $219.5 million on August 20, and $184 million a day later.

Capital Shifts Toward Solana and XRP

The flow into smaller crypto ETF segments signals that investors are gradually increasing exposure beyond the two largest cryptocurrencies.

Spot Solana ETFs saw $33.5 million in net inflows on August 24. Bitwise’s BSOL attracted $25 million, Fidelity added $4.8 million, and Grayscale’s product registered $3.7 million.

According to Coinglass data, XRP funds recorded an additional $13.82 million in net inflows. The Bitwise XRP ETF led with $8.25 million, followed by Franklin at $4.01 million and Canary at $1.57 million.

Even the relatively small Hyperliquid ETF segment ended the day positive with $5.7 million, including $3.5 million for the Bitwise product and $2.2 million for 21Shares.

While these amounts remain small compared to BTC and ETH, the direction is significant. Simultaneous capital entry into multiple crypto ETF categories suggests that investors are no longer seeking exposure solely to Bitcoin, but are gradually moving further down the market cap ladder.

Euphoria Brings Higher Risks

However, the strong momentum is creating conditions for sharp short-term corrections. The Fear and Greed Index has reached 82 points, placing the market in the “Extreme Greed” zone.

At the same time, liquidations over the last 24 hours hit approximately $693.6 million, a nearly 144% increase. This highlights how quickly leverage is growing as traders attempt to position themselves around the accelerating rally.

For Bitcoin, the $80,000 zone now serves as an immediate test of momentum. A sustained break above this level could maintain interest in riskier crypto assets, especially if ETF flows remain positive.

But after a week where BTC rose by over 24%, ETH by more than 30%, and some large altcoins posted even higher gains, the market enters the next phase of the rally with heavily extended positions. The behavior of ETF investors and the reaction around $80,000 will be key to determining whether the movement expands further or shifts into a consolidation period.
