Polygon Labs has unveiled a new initiative to broaden institutional access to POL, its native ecosystem token, in collaboration with Cypher Capital.

The move represents the first of several strategic efforts aimed at meeting rising institutional demand for real yield in digital assets.

POL as a foundational asset

POL underpins Polygon’s global infrastructure, serving as the economic engine for payments, real-world asset (RWA) transactions, and broader ecosystem activity. Through the new partnership, institutional investors across the Middle East will gain structured opportunities to integrate POL into their portfolios, earning yield while contributing to network security and liquidity.

“Institutional demand for real yield on crypto is already high and continues to grow,” said Sandeep Nailwal, CEO of the Polygon Foundation. “This initiative translates POL’s core value into institutional-grade opportunities, expanding its role as a foundational asset for professional capital allocation.”

Expanding institutional participation

The collaboration with Cypher Capital is designed to bridge Polygon’s infrastructure with traditional financial settings, making it easier for professional investors to engage with the network. Plans include investor roundtables, improved liquidity pathways, and tailored frameworks for institutional adoption.

By deepening institutional access, Polygon aims to position POL alongside mainstream portfolio assets, while reinforcing the network’s role in powering global payments and RWA integration.

Technical progress supports adoption

The announcement comes as Polygon advances its GigaGas roadmap, which has already achieved sub-five-second finality and throughput exceeding 1,000 transactions per second (TPS). These upgrades strengthen the protocol’s ability to handle large-scale applications, providing the technical backbone to match growing institutional use.

Outlook

With institutional capital increasingly seeking exposure to blockchain-based yield, Polygon’s expansion of POL access signals a new phase for the ecosystem. By combining infrastructure progress with tailored financial products, the initiative aims to place POL at the center of both decentralized innovation and professional capital strategies.
