Ethereum Holds $4,400 as Validator Exit Queue Hits Record 2.6M ETH
Ethereum is holding steady near $4,400, even as on-chain data reveals the largest validator exit in the network’s history.
According to SoSoValue, more than 2.6 million ETH are now queued for unstaking, creating an unprecedented 35+ day exit queue. Despite the scale of the withdrawals, Ethereum’s price has remained resilient, highlighting continued confidence among investors.

Price resilience amid stress test
Market analysts point out that Ethereum’s ability to maintain stability in the face of such a major event suggests the market views this as an operational risk rather than a fundamental breakdown. In fact, technical analysts like Crypto Rover describe Ethereum’s chart setup as “super bullish,” with the asset breaking out of a consolidation range that has held since August.
Bullish momentum and liquidity risks
The paradox is clear: while a record number of validators are moving to exit, demand in the spot market and rising trading volumes are providing a counterbalance. CoinMarketCap data shows Ethereum’s 24-hour trading volume surged nearly 29% to $42.8 billion, supporting its $532 billion market cap.
Still, questions remain.
Will the bulk of this unstaked ETH be re-staked, or could it trigger a liquidity event if large amounts hit exchanges? For now, Ethereum’s resilience is calming nerves, but the validator exodus will be closely watched in the coming weeks.
With Q4 seasonality often favoring crypto markets, Ethereum’s combination of price strength and bullish technical signals could set the stage for a decisive move higher – provided the exit queue resolves without sparking broader selling pressure.
