BtcTurk, Turkey’s longest-running cryptocurrency exchange, has paused all crypto deposit and withdrawal operations following the detection of unusual fund movements worth around $48 million.

The alert came from blockchain security firm Cyvers, which reported the incident on Thursday.

According to Cyvers, its systems identified rapid multi-chain transfers involving Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Mantle, and Polygon. The activity saw most of the funds funneled into just two wallet addresses, with the suspected attacker quickly starting to swap assets.

In an announcement on X, BtcTurk described the issue as a technical problem impacting its hot wallets. While the exchange gave no exact timeline for resolution, it assured users they would be notified once crypto deposits and withdrawals are back online. The company also emphasized that lira-based trading and fiat deposits or withdrawals remain fully operational.
