Investment company Metaplanet, also known as the “Japanese MicroStrategy”, has welcomed Eric Trump to its newly formed Strategic Board of Advisors.
This strategic move, announced on March 21, marks a significant milestone in the firm’s mission to enhance its influence in the cryptocurrency space. Eric Trump, the son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, is the first to join the board, which Metaplanet intends to leverage for advancing Bitcoin adoption and financial innovation globally.
The company emphasized Eric Trump’s multi-industry expertise, particularly in real estate, finance, and brand development. Known for his outspoken support of digital assets, Metaplanet views Trump as an ideal advocate to push forward its vision.
Simon Gerovich, the company’s Director, expressed confidence that Eric Trump’s connections and insights within the Bitcoin ecosystem will help Metaplanet solidify its position as a key player in the BTC treasury space.
Metaplanet’s stock saw a noticeable uptick, climbing 17% to ¥4,730, after the announcement, reflecting investor optimism in response to the new appointment.
As part of its international expansion strategy, Metaplanet recently listed on the OTCQX, aiming to capture attention from U.S. investors. Eric Trump’s association with the company is seen as a major boost, especially as Metaplanet positions itself to challenge other notable Bitcoin treasury strategies, such as Michael Saylor’s.
