CryptoQuant’s CEO Explores Memecoins as Products of Collective Human Beliefs

Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, recently shared an intriguing perspective on memecoins, linking them to Carl Jung's theory of the "collective unconscious."

In his Feb. 23 posts on X, Ju argued that animal-themed and celebrity-driven memecoins reflect deep-seated cultural symbols and memories passed down through generations, forming part of the shared human psyche.

He pointed out that while animal memecoins draw from shamanic traditions that honor animals, celebrity coins symbolize more structured belief systems, reflecting the reverence for human figures.

Ju further explained that the evolution of humanity has been shaped by collective beliefs, where worship, group formation, and collaboration play key roles.

He emphasized that in the crypto world, success as an entrepreneur often hinges on one’s ability to create a belief system people can connect with.

His remarks came in the wake of the Libra token controversy, which led to significant financial losses and political fallout, sparking debates on the sustainability of memecoins and calls for more robust regulations in the space.
