Turkish banking leader Garanti BBVA Kripto has announced a collaboration with Ripple Inc. and IBM to enhance its crypto trading and custodial services.
This partnership marks the first significant client engagement since Ripple introduced its Custody solution earlier this month.
The collaboration aims to improve the performance and security of Garanti BBVA’s crypto asset trading platform. Following a successful pilot program last year, the bank plans to expand these services to its extensive customer base of over 14,000 users.
By integrating Ripple Custody and IBM’s technology, Garanti BBVA will implement a robust management infrastructure ensuring comprehensive security for its applications, data, and private keys.
Aaron Sears, SVP of Global Customer & Partner Success at Ripple, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its role in developing Turkey’s crypto market and meeting the rising demand for secure digital asset management.
The new solution will offer advanced security features, including data encryption, customer environment isolation, and embedded Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) with high security certifications. These measures are designed to mitigate risks from potential threats while providing a strong defense for clients.
