On September 5, crypto researcher ZachXBT voiced concerns about the effectiveness of block trackers for various Layer 1 blockchains.
In a response to Arthur_0x from DeFiance Capital, ZachXBT evaluated these trackers and highlighted the need for significant improvements in transaction tracking beyond the Ethereum ecosystem.
He noted that while tools for Ethereum are “okay,” many others require a complete redesign. Blockchair, Mempool, and WalletExplorer for Bitcoin were deemed “acceptable” to “good” in tracking transactions.
ZachXBT also mentioned that any analytics company he would consider starting would focus on private tools and compliance data for law enforcement, given the current demands of the crypto market.
He assessed blockchain analyzers for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks, including OKLink, Solscan for Solana, and Bithomp for Ripple, as “good” but not ideal. Solscan was noted for its superior filtering capabilities, while Tron was deemed “could be better,” and Bithomp was recognized for its utility with services and exchanges.
ZachXBT criticized blockchain trackers for Cosmos, Bittensor, Hedera, Harmony, Algorand, Aptos, and Sui, particularly finding Aptos and Sui lacking in quality.
