XRP and Cardano’s Crypto Future Under Scrutiny

Former Goldman Sachs analyst Murad Mahmudov has sparked a heated debate with recent comments questioning the future viability of two major altcoins: XRP and Cardano (ADA).
Mahmudov’s critique casts doubt on the long-term sustainability of these cryptocurrencies, suggesting they might not possess the fundamental robustness often touted by their proponents. He dismisses XRP and ADA as “cult meme coins,” implying their valuation hinges more on community sentiment than on substantial underlying value.
These remarks come amid a broader market downturn, with XRP currently trading well below its historical highs.
While Mahmudov expresses cautious optimism about the broader altcoin market, he remains skeptical about XRP and ADA specifically. He predicts that altcoins in general could outperform other sectors within the cryptocurrency market in the current cycle, noting their historical role in fostering innovation and adoption across the digital asset landscape.
However, Mahmudov tempers this outlook with concerns over potential economic headwinds, such as reduced savings rates among American households, which could limit future investment inflows into cryptocurrencies and potentially dampen the expected outperformance of altcoins.
Earlier technical analyses had hinted at the possibility of a significant price surge for XRP, reminiscent of its explosive growth in 2017 when it soared by 70,000%.
