Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon is set to be extradited to the United States, marking a decisive turn in the prolonged legal saga following the collapse of LUNA and UST tokens.
Montenegrin Justice Minister Bojan Bozovic authorized the extradition, as reported by local outlet Vijesti, ending months of uncertainty surrounding Kwon’s fate.
Once in the U.S., he will face fraud charges related to the massive financial fallout, which wiped out over $40 billion from the cryptocurrency market.
The extradition order follows a recent decision by Montenegro’s Constitutional Court to dismiss Kwon’s appeal against his transfer.
Competing international interest in his prosecution had further complicated the case.
According to the Justice Ministry, the decision considered the Supreme Court’s guidance and weighed all relevant legal and situational factors before finalizing the extradition.
