Developer engagement across the Solana ecosystem has remained high over the past month, with core protocol development and infrastructure projects dominating GitHub activity, according to new data from crypto analytics firm Santiment.
At the center of the surge is Solana itself, which continues to see the most developer interaction by a wide margin. From protocol upgrades to smart contract improvements, the network’s base layer attracted the highest volume of code contributions in the last 30 days.
Among other active projects, Wormhole, a protocol enabling cross-chain transfers, and Pyth Network, a decentralized oracle provider, have also seen substantial developer interest. Both platforms play a critical role in expanding Solana’s interoperability and data infrastructure.
Drift, a decentralized derivatives exchange, along with Neon, which is working to bring Ethereum compatibility to Solana, also made the top five, signaling strong developer appetite for financial and EVM-compatible tools within the ecosystem.
Additional noteworthy activity came from projects like JTO, a governance and staking protocol; io.net, focused on decentralized computing; Helium, known for decentralized wireless networks; Metaplex, Solana’s NFT protocol backbone; and Swarms, a lesser-known but steadily growing project.
The increased attention from developers suggests that builders continue to view Solana as a fertile ground for scaling decentralized applications, especially those that benefit from high throughput and low fees. With the blockchain’s broader ecosystem maturing, continued development momentum could help Solana stay competitive in the evolving Layer 1 landscape.
Recent GitHub data reveals which blockchain ecosystems and individual projects attracted the most developer attention last week—a key signal of long-term project strength.
Tether, the leading issuer of stablecoins, is phasing out support for five older blockchains.
Germany’s state-owned development bank NRW.BANK has issued a €100 million ($116.7 million) blockchain-based bond, marking one of the largest public-sector entries into digital securities in Europe.
New data highlights a dramatic lead for Solana in blockchain activity for June 2025. According to the figures, Solana processed a staggering 2.98 billion transactions, far outpacing all other chains in the ecosystem.
