Binance has announced its full technical support for an upcoming upgrade to the Siacoin (SC) blockchain, scheduled for June 6, 2025.
The update, which includes a hard fork, is set to activate at block height 526,000.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, Binance will temporarily pause all deposits and withdrawals involving the Siacoin network starting at 08:00 UTC on the day of the upgrade. The trading of SC tokens on the platform will continue as usual, with no interruptions expected for market activity.
The exchange confirmed that it will manage all backend processes tied to the upgrade, sparing users from needing to take any manual action. Once the upgrade is complete and network stability is confirmed, deposits and withdrawals will resume—though Binance noted it won’t issue an additional announcement when that happens.
This latest development marks a key milestone in Siacoin’s roadmap, aimed at optimizing the blockchain’s performance and introducing protocol improvements. Binance emphasized that users should refer to the original English statement for any clarification in case of conflicting translations.
