Futures contracts have transitioned to a \u201cReduce-Only\u201d mode, allowing users to decrease or close existing positions while prohibiting any increase in exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exchange has also stopped accepting new applications for margin trading, lending, staking, fiat services, and strategic trading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next phase begins on September 22, when all services excluding spot trading will be terminated. On-chain deposits will also be suspended, with the exception of CET, which remains depositable until September 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision is unusually definitive. The company has identified the announcement as its <strong><p><\/p><div data-nosnippet><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"zxx\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/evNt1C9XQ6\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/evNt1C9XQ6<\/a><\/p>\u2014 CoinEx Global (@coinexcom) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/coinexcom\/status\/2099680522758721756?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">September 15, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n and warns that any subsequent \u201cnew rules\u201d or changes published in its name should be treated as fraudulent.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trading Ends on September 29<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On September 29, CoinEx will cease all spot trading and begin the final settlement of assets other than USDT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The buyback program for the platform\u2019s native token, CET, also concludes on this date. CoinEx will buy back all remaining CET in client accounts at a fixed price of 0.005 USDT per token, without quantity limits or additional conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both the CoinEx Smart Chain and the decentralized platform OneSwap are scheduled to shut down on September 29 as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While this timeline leaves approximately three months between the start of the process and the final closure of the exchange, actual trading will end just two weeks after the initial announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Users Have Until December 22<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most critical date for customers is December 22, 2026. Withdrawal channels will remain active until this time, regardless of the phased shutdown of other services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CoinEx maintains that its reserve ratio exceeds 100% and that client assets are fully backed. The company has published a dedicated page for proof of reserves to support these claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exchange is urging users not to wait until the final days to withdraw, citing risks of network congestion, fee fluctuations, and longer transaction confirmation times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After December 22, any unwithdrawn USDT will be moved out of the standard exchange infrastructure and transferred to independent custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This transition comes with a steep price for inactivity: a monthly fee equal to 5% of the initial balance recorded at the end of the 90-day withdrawal window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users will be able to submit claims for these funds until August 22, 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wallet Remains, Exchange Disappears<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The closure does not affect all products under the CoinEx brand. The company specified that CoinEx Wallet and CoinEx Vault operate independently of the centralized exchange and will continue their normal operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This distinction is vital, as CoinEx Wallet is a self-custodial Web3 wallet where the company does not store private keys, seed phrases, or user passwords. The official terms of service explicitly differentiate this model from centralized asset storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its announcement, the company highlighted a combination of lower industry volumes, weakened liquidity, and steadily increasing regulatory and operational costs as reasons for the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This shift serves as a broader signal regarding the economics of the centralized crypto business. Even with fully backed client assets, as CoinEx claims, maintaining a global exchange is becoming increasingly expensive amid lower volumes and diverging regulatory regimes across different markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For customers, however, the immediate concern is no longer the future of the business model. Trading will vanish after September 29, and the direct withdrawal window closes after December 22.
