Revolut will use this testing period before expanding access to EURR across the rest of the EEA later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stablecoin is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity of the infrastructure provider Bridge, which was acquired by Stripe. The dollar dominates the stablecoin market, even though Europe is one of the world\u2019s largest financial markets. The company is gradually phasing out access to USDT for accounts in the EEA and Switzerland amid new regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MiCA imposes specific rules on issuers of \u201ce-money tokens,\u201d including requirements for reserves, redemptions, and regulatory oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For platforms, this means that offering stablecoins now depends not only on liquidity and user demand but also on the status of the issuer itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EURR was created specifically for this environment. Instead of Revolut adapting a product originally built for the global crypto market, the company is starting with a token structured around the European regulatory framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Proprietary Distribution is Key for EURR<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stablecoins rely on network effects. The more exchanges, wallets, payment services, and users that accept a token, the more useful it becomes as a settlement tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revolut holds an advantage that most new issuers lack: a ready-made channel to a massive base of European users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This could give EURR several practical applications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switching between euro and blockchain assets directly through the app.<\/li>\n<li>Euro-denominated transfers between crypto wallets.<\/li>\n<li>Settlement without an intermediate move through a dollar stablecoin.<\/li>\n<li>Future integration with more blockchains and financial products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question remains whether this distribution will translate into liquidity outside the Revolut ecosystem. To compete as a standalone stablecoin, EURR will need to gain broader support from exchanges, wallets, and blockchain applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EURR is the First Piece of a Larger Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revolut does not view EURR as an isolated experiment.
