Bitcoin has returned above $95,000 in recent sessions, marking nearly a 5% gain over the last day alone, while the overall market capitalization for cryptocurrencies now stands at around $3.3 trillion. Ethereum has held its ground too, ascending by 7% to hover above the $3,300 level.

There is still volatility, but the short-term market rally shows lasting conviction among crypto investors. More capital appears to be flowing in after current inflation figures remain aligned with analysts’ expectations.

Meanwhile, Layer 2 (L2) projects also moved higher. Optimism (OP) and Arbitrum (ARB) traded back to higher levels, with OP up nearly 15% and ARB climbing by 9% over 24 hours. Other projects like Mantle and Immutable X took off as well, pushing the L2 market cap over $11.8 billion.

As crypto infrastructure projects gain ground, Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER) is about to make its debut in the space. This new Layer 2 protocol built for the Bitcoin blockchain has already pulled in over $30.4 million during its presale phase. By bringing speed and functionality to BTC, HYPER could well be the next crypto to explode in 2026.

Crypto Bounces Back as BTC Hits Key Resistance Level

Major cryptocurrencies have bounced higher this week, with Bitcoin leading the way after a choppy period at the end of last year. Altcoins have been posting modest gains across the board, although some sectors like DeFi surged higher than others.

On another note, spot Bitcoin ETFs have experienced a mixed start to the year. After strong inflows totaling nearly $700 million on January 5, the products had four straight days of outflows at over $200 million each day. Analysts point out that investments in these ETFs could stabilize if Congress can clarify regulatory frameworks in the crypto sector.

Nic from CoinBureau, a prominent crypto figure on X, highlighted Bitcoin’s return above a critical resistance level. If BTC can break past this zone, which has historically been an area of consolidation, he believes Bitcoin could return to $100,000.

Bitcoin is back above a critical resistance!

We have previously struggled to hold above the 61.8% fib extension from last year's low to high.

This area was also a previous consolidation zone.

If we manage to break above, $100k is the next target. pic.twitter.com/DzIRlrVutK
