In a new outlook for 2026, Ita\u00fa Asset Management said<\/a><\/strong> a 1%-3% BTC allocation can improve portfolio resilience as global politics, monetary policy shifts, and currency instability reshape investment risk.<\/p>\n

Instead of comparing Bitcoin to equities or bonds, Ita\u00fa\u2019s strategist Renato Eid described it as a global, decentralized asset with return characteristics that do not mirror Brazil\u2019s traditional markets. That distinction, he argued, gives BTC meaningful hedging power \u2013 even after a year marked by violent swings between $80,000 and a record $125,000.<\/p>\n

Brazil\u2019s currency made those swings feel even sharper. The real appreciated roughly 15% in 2025, magnifying losses for locals who measure returns in BRL. Yet Ita\u00fa\u2019s internal models show very low correlation between its Bitcoin ETF (BITI11) and both domestic and international benchmarks, a trait the bank says strengthens the case for a small but deliberate allocation.<\/p>\n

\u201cPortfolios benefit from diversification, and Bitcoin provides it,\u201d the research note concluded, pointing to scenarios where a modest holding can offset risks legacy assets fail to neutralize.<\/p>\n

The recommendation arrives just months after Ita\u00fa Asset formed a dedicated crypto division, led by former Hashdex executive Jo\u00e3o Marco Braga da Cunha.
