The crypto market is behaving oddly. Bitcoin lost $90,000 on Sunday night, and sentiment has once again entered “extreme fear.” There’s also been mass selling from Ethereum and XRP whales, echoing the bearish sentiment.

Both ETH and XRP remain red on Tuesday, but Bitcoin rebounded from $83,900 on Monday to almost $87,000 today. Furthermore, the Federal Reserve just ended its quantitative tightening (QT) campaign, which began in 2022.

Many see the Fed’s end of QT as a macro catalyst for risk assets, potentially helping fuel a broader market recovery. Nonetheless, Ethereum and XRP’s whale outflows show that not all traders see it this way – but as these top alts struggle, a new project is gaining significant traction.

It’s called Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER), and it’s currently in a presale that has raised $28.8 million. The project is aiming to build the world’s fastest smart contract Bitcoin Layer 2, a use case with real long-term potential if executed well. With that in mind, could HYPER be among the best crypto presales to buy now?

This publication is sponsored. The wallet transferred 5,000 ETH, worth roughly $15.05 million, to Binance on Sunday during the latest round of selling. However, it still holds 10,000 ETH, which could signal further selling pressure ahead.

This could be why Ethereum has underperformed Bitcoin this week, with its price down 4.3% while BTC is down only 1.2%. The trend has continued on Tuesday, with BTC up 0.8% and ETH down 1.1%.

It’s a similar story for XRP. Data from Santiment shows that the number of whales (wallets with 100M+ XRP) dropped by 20.6% in the last eight weeks, although the amount of tokens held by whales actually increased in that time.

This means the supply is becoming more concentrated, which isn’t healthy. It could suggest that larger whales are being forced to absorb selling pressure to defend key price levels. But how long until they run out of ammo?

XRP’s price reflects this declining whale count, tumbling by 10% in the last week.

🐳 XRP Ledger is seeing a fascinating trend of whale & shark wallets shrinking in number, but continuing to grow in coins held. There are -20.6% less 100M+ $XRP wallets compared to 8 weeks ago, but they still own a 7-year high 48B coins collectively.

🔗 https://t.co/vvuvnoGOQJ pic.twitter.com/UKFTmUofmg

— Santiment (@santimentfeed) December 1, 2025
