Gox Still Stalling Bitcoin Repayments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The exchange\u2019s rehabilitation trustee announced that the repayment deadline has been <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtgox.com\/img\/pdf\/20251027_1cc36334-e8b2-4fe4-8135-97d9a149e4f7_announcement_en.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow\">postponed<\/a><\/strong> by another year, moving from October 31, 2025, to October 31, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest update, most approved creditors have already received their base, early lump-sum, and interim payments. However, a number of claimants are still waiting due to incomplete documentation or unresolved administrative issues. The trustee said the extension, approved by the court, aims to ensure all eligible creditors can be repaid \u201cto the extent reasonably practicable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This marks the third delay in the repayment schedule since the process began. Gox, once the largest Bitcoin exchange in the world, collapsed in 2014 after hackers stole approximately 850,000 BTC. Since then, the rehabilitation process has worked to recover and redistribute remaining assets to former users.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, the trustee confirmed it would return part of the recovered holdings \u2013 including 142,000 Bitcoin, 143,000 Bitcoin Cash, and around 69 billion yen (roughly $510 million) in fiat currency \u2013 to creditors. By early 2025, nearly 20,000 creditors had reportedly received partial payments through major exchanges such as Kraken and Bitstamp.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the progress, onchain <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/intel.arkm.com\/explorer\/entity\/mt-gox\" rel=\"nofollow\">data<\/a><\/strong> from Arkham indicates that Mt.
