Now, KGST is officially live, marking a major step in Kyrgyzstan\u2019s digital asset strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the stablecoin, the government revealed plans for a pilot digital som, the nation\u2019s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), to be tested in three stages: initially enabling transfers between the National Bank and commercial banks, then expanding to social and government payments via the Central Treasury, and finally allowing offline or low-connectivity transactions. Officials said KGST will facilitate international settlements without double conversion and eventually integrate with the digital som, improving its utility for cross-border payments and
