Another bearish news event, following the recent decline in the BTC price, has arrived from the SEC. This time, it is about the Solana ETF. Approval for Cboe\u2019s BZX proposals for Solana Exchange-Traded Funds has been delayed by two months<\/a>. The new date is now October 16.<\/p>\n

This news, combined with already negative macroeconomic conditions, has caused the Solana price to drop. Conversations have started around whether to consider the current price action a \u201cbuy the dip\u201d opportunity, and if that means SOL could be the best crypto to buy now.<\/p>\n

Need More Time to Consider the Proposals \u2013 SEC<\/h2>\n

The Securities and Exchange Commission has said that the reason for the delay is that the regulatory body needs sufficient time to consider the Solana ETF proposal.<\/p>\n

Why would the SEC need additional time now, given that the regulator has eased toward Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs?<\/p>\n

According to Vincent Liu, Chief Investment Officer of Kronos Research, Solana\u2019s \u201cstill shaky status\u201d regarding whether it is a commodity or a security could be the main reason.<\/p>\n

Liu further added that the SEC\u2019s final call on the Solana ETF could determine whether more altcoin-linked ETFs receive approval or whether regulatory scrutiny for such assets will be increased.<\/p>\n

While the long-term implication of the delay is not yet clear, since the SEC could announce another delay on October 16, what is clear is that the Solana price has responded just as expected to this news: negatively.<\/p>\n

Solana Price Action<\/h2>\n

In the last 24 hours, the Solana price has dropped by more than 4%. The crypto is currently trading below the $198 level and has a market cap of just above $106 billion. However, even though the recent short-term pullback has worried the ecosystem, analysts say that a major bullish price action may be coming.<\/p>\n

Speaking to his followers on Twitter, analyst Ali Martinez pointed out a pattern similar to the one mentioned above, stating that Solana may offer a final \u201cbuy-the-dip\u201d before surging past the $360 level.<\/p>\n
