Bitcoin (BTC) has finally made it back to the $100,000 level after months of steep declines. In the past month, the top crypto has produced gains of nearly 22%.<\/p>\n

As a result, BTC has now swung to positive territory on a year-to-date basis with accumulated gains of 10.8%.<\/p>\n

One metric in particular shows how excited market participants are about the rally. Open interest (OI) for Bitcoin futures has risen near its 2025 record levels in the past few days. As traders jump back to the market, this favors a bullish Bitcoin price prediction.<\/p>\n

Data from CoinGlass<\/a> shows that OI rose above $67.5 billion yesterday. This is the seventh time since the year started that traders have increased their BTC exposure to this extent.<\/p>\n

In January, these same volumes were necessary to push BTC to its current all-time high. Although the price started to retreat right after OI levels got this far, in this case, they could indicate the exact opposite.<\/p>\n

Back in November, when prices started to surge after Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s victory in the U.S. Presidential Election, open interest was sitting at around these current levels. However, the price still managed to climb from $94,000 to $107,000 just a month after.<\/p>\n

Above-average OIs at the beginning of a bullish cycle typically confirm the beginning of such a period rather than the end.<\/p>\n

Considering the fact that Bitcoin has broken above its 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) in the past few days, these higher OIs confirm a bullish long-term outlook for the token that could push it to $125,000 and beyond.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin Price Prediction: This Technical Pattern Favors an Upcoming Push to New ATHs<\/h2>\n

Looking at the daily chart, BTC has formed an ascending triangle that is already nearing its key resistance at the token\u2019s current all-time high.<\/p>\n

Ascending triangles occur when an uptrend forms and heads to retest a key level. Momentum indicators show that the trend\u2019s strength is high as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) has surged to overbought levels.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the price has broken above its short-term and long-term moving averages and the 21-day and 200-day EMA have made a \u2018golden cross.\u2019 This last bullish signal preceded a 60% increase in the price of BTC in a relatively short period the last time it happened.<\/p>\n
