Oktober, als Republikaner und Demokraten sich nicht auf einen neuen Bundeshaushalt einigen konnten, wodurch ein Gro\u00dfteil der normalen Regierungsgesch\u00e4fte praktisch eingefroren wurde. Die Gesetzgeber sind sich weiterhin uneinig \u00fcber die fiskalischen Priorit\u00e4ten: Die Republikaner dr\u00e4ngen darauf, die Ausgaben zu drosseln und die 37,8 Billionen Dollar Schulden des Landes anzugehen, w\u00e4hrend die Demokraten sich gegen K\u00fcrzungen im Gesundheitswesen und bei Sozialprogrammen wehren und eine Erneuerung der Steuergutschriften fordern, die die Versicherungskosten senken.<\/p>\n<p>Beide Kammern des Kongresses haben ihre Sitzungen ohne einen klaren Plan zur L\u00f6sung der Krise vertagt, was bedeutet, dass die Stilllegung bis weit in den November hinein andauern k\u00f6nnte.
